Elphin Tiernan

Elphin Tiernan is a 1995 dark bay gelding, the fourth of Friday's foals by Mick. His name means "little lord" in Gaelic, and he was always just that, very proud and charismatic.

Tiernan with Friday and in New Brunswick as a 2 year old.

Tiernan was sold to Gay Hanson of New Brunswick as a colt, and after siring one half-bred filly he was gelded. Gay's daughter, Inga now rides Tiernan, participating in Pony Club activities with him. Inga won the 2000 ACPS Youth Scholarship for her essay about Tiernan. Gays says of him: "Tiernan ......... that little outlaw! Good thing he is so georgeous! We would love to send you some photos of him. I'll get Inga on it. She plans to event him again this year. I'm thinking of trying him in harness too, if the ground ever dries here. We should get some photos of Bella (Tiernan's daughter) too...she is a really nice pony."
