Darian's owners Mari Glockler and her 9 year old daughter, Dresden, write:
"We recently fell in love with a '97 baby of Mick's named Daire Me. He was bred by Linda Cornish of Northstone Farms and is out of a Welsh/QH cross named Holly Day. It didn't take long for Darian to become part of our family and we are thrilled with him. He was started under saddle this summer and is coming along very quickly.
Many people think Darian is a lot like Holly
except for his head. He was born chestnut but is now the same colour as Holly
was. He is a very comfortable to ride, much like Holly, and learns very quickly.
He currently stands at 14.1 1/2 hh and I think he has stopped growing. He
is a real character and keeps us all amused with his antics.
Since Dresden is only nine and still a green rider we are planning to show him in short stirrups this year. Linda's daughter Ashley helps with his training and will take him in some large pony hunter classes at some schooling shows in the spring. We plan to start him on the Trillium circuit and eventually show him in the A shows. He definitely is A show potential. The large pony hunter jumps are going up to three feet this year and the stride is being increased. This is great for Darian who thinks the bigger the jump the better and he has a huge stride."
An update on Dresden & Darian, as of August, 2002:
"Hey! It's Dresden Glockler-Lauf and
I have a few updates about Daire Me and I. Last year overall Darian and I
finished Reserve Champion in Short Stirrups and 6th in C Equitation on the
This year we are showing sucessfully on the A circut and the Trillium circut, currenly standing around 7th in Large Pony, 2nd in Pony Medal and around 3rd in C Equitation on the A circut. On the Trillium circut we are 4th in Large pony, and 2nd in C Equitation."
